Read these policies before confirming a new booking. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights under an existing booking. Your non-excludable consumer rights remain protected.
Information collected
We collect identity and contact details, billing details, Japan accommodation information, payment references, Bag IDs, exterior photographs and logistics history.
Why we use it
Information is used to supply storage and transport, verify hotel bookings, provide support, prevent disputes, process payments, meet legal duties and improve operations.
Service providers
Relevant information may be shared with our Japan warehouse partner, Yamato or another appointed courier, Stripe, Supabase, email providers and professional advisers where necessary.
Storage and access
Snow Locker records are kept separately from Nippon Direct Shopping. Access is restricted by customer ownership or authorised staff role. Bag evidence is held in private storage.
Access, correction and privacy concerns
Contact snowlocker@nippondirect.com.au to request access to or correction of your information, or to raise a privacy complaint. Describe your concern and include only the details needed to locate your record; do not email passwords or full payment-card details. We may need to verify your identity before providing account information.
Retention and overseas handling
Japan storage and transport require relevant booking and bag information to be handled in Japan. Our payment, hosting and email providers may also process information in other countries, including outside your country of residence. Contact us for current provider-location information. We retain information needed to supply the service, handle disputes and meet applicable record-keeping obligations. Ask support about deletion or de-identification; records subject to ongoing service, dispute or legal requirements may need to be retained.
Privacy complaints
Send your privacy concern to snowlocker@nippondirect.com.au. We will investigate and respond using your nominated contact details, and explain any information needed to assess the complaint. If you remain dissatisfied, you can seek advice from the relevant privacy regulator, including the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where applicable.
